Welcome to the best warrior leveling spec! I decided to make this guide because a lot of people seem to have a hard time figuring out the best way to spend their talent points while leveling. It’s important to spec in a way that makes your leveling easy and efficient, so you can level up as quickly as possible.
This spec will be using the Arms talent tree. While this isn’t the only way to level, I find it to be the most efficient because you do the most damage with the smallest amount of downtime.
If you’re really looking to level your warrior up as quickly as possible I would suggest Zygor Leveling Guide which is an in-game addon that tells you exactly which quests to take and what order to do them in for maximum return on your time played.
What Stats You Should Look for on your Gear and Weapons
To start off with, you’re going to want to use a two-handed axe or polearm while leveling. Choose the slowest, highest damage weapon you can find… do not look at the dps on the weapon, it will fool you into getting inferior weapons quite often (believe me, I’ve fallen for it myself).
At lower levels “of the Bear” gear is ideal, but it can be expensive to buy these at the Auction House, so just get what you can. Running instances every 5 levels or so to get gear is a great idea (especially with the bonus gear you get for using the Dungeon Finder). Here are the stats you’ll want to focus on:
Strength – This is your main stat. It will help you hit harder and do more damage.
Critical Strike – Increasing your crit chance is important because your crits will cause additional debuffs on your targets (because of how we’ll spend our talent points, etc.)
Stamina – The more health you have, the longer you’ll stay alive. Especially since you can’t heal yourself and enemies will be beating on you.
The Best Warrior Leveling Spec – Arms
Once you hit Level 10, it’s time to start spending your talent points, so let’s get started:
Levels 10-11: 2/2 Improved Rend
You’ll be using Rend a lot, so you might as well get it to cause more damage.
Levels 12-16: 5/5 Deflection
A little bit of damage mitigation through parries
Levels 17-18: 2/2 Improved Charge
More rage means more special attacks. You want this.
Level 19: 1/3 Tactical Mastery
Honestly, you can spend this point anywhere that you’d prefer, it’s really just filler to get to the next tier.
Levels 20-21: 2/2 Improved Overpower
Overpower is something you want to use every time you can. Increasing the crit chance of Overpower by 50%? Heck yeah! You like to see big number, right?
Levels 22-23: 2/2 Impale
Increases the critical strike damage bonus by 20%. More damage is always welcome.
Level 24: 1/3 Deep Wounds
Another bleed effect when you crit. This is a nice damage increase but it’s reliant on critical strikes, we’ll be back to finish it off later.
Levels 25-27: 3/3 Two-Handed Weapon Specialization
Increases your two-handed weapon damage by 6%
Levels 28-30: 3/3 Taste for Blood
This allows you to use Overpower whenever Rend causes damage (once every 6 seconds). Another reason to make sure you always have Rend on your target.
Level 31: 1/1 Sweeping Strikes
This allows you to hit and additional target. It’s pretty handy when you’ve pulled more than one mob.
Levels 32-35: 4/5 Poleaxe Specialization
4% damage increase to axes and polearms (this is why you’ll want to be using a two-handed axe or a polearm)
Levels 36-37: 3/3 Deep Wounds
We’re gonna finish this off.
Levels 38-39: 2/2 Trauma
Your critical strikes increase the effects of your Bleed effects by 30% (Rend and Deep Wounds)
Level 40: 1/1 Mortal Strike
Another attack for you that causes weapon damage + 85 (at Rank 1), it also reduces healing effects on your target by 50%. Great for use on healers or anybody that gets heals.
Levels 41-42: 2/2 Strength of Arms
Increses your Strenght and Stamina by 4% and your Expertise by 4. More health, harder hits. How can you go wrong?
Levels 43-44: 2/2 Improved Slam
Woo! 1 second off of the swing time of Slam!
Levels 45-46: 2/2 Unrelenting Assault
Reduces the cooldowns on Overpower and Revenge by 4 seconds while increasing their damage by 20%.
Levels 47-49: 3/3 Improved Mortal Strike
Increases the damage of Mortal Strike by 10% and reduces its cooldown by 1 second.
Level 50: 1/1 Endless Rage
You now generate 25% more rage by dealing damage! This is great since you need Rage to use your special attacks… but you know that by now.
Levels 51-52: 2/2 Blood Frenzy
Increases your attack speed by 5% on top of your Rend and Deep Wounds causing 2% additional damage to your target.
Levels 53-54: 2/3 Sudden Death
Your melee hits now have a 6% chance to allow you to use Execute regardless of the target’s level of health. It also allows you to keep at least 7 rage after using Execute.
Levels 55-59: 5/5 Wrecking Crew
Your critical strikes Enrage you, which increases all damage caused by 10% for 12 seconds.
Level 60: 1/1 Bladestorm
Twirl around like ballerina with an axe damaging up to 4 nearby targets every second for 6 seconds. You can’t be feared during this and you can move, but you can’t use any other abilities (and you can be disarmed… watch out of nasty Shadow Priests, haha).
Level 61: 5/5 Poleaxe Specialization
Finish it off, it’s more important at higher levels than it was at lower levels.
Level 62: 3/3 Sudden Death
Finish it! With that, we’re going to be switching over to the Fury Tree.
Levels 63-67: 5/5 Cruelty
More crit which is just all-around good stuff.
Levels 68-70: 3/3 Armored to the Teeth
More attack power based on your armor value.
Levels 71-72: 2/2 Booming Voice
Increases the area of effect and duration of Battle Shout, Demoralizing Shout and Commanding Shout by 50%
Levels 73-74: 2/5 Commanding Presence
Increases your attack power bonus of Battle Shout and the health bonus of Commanding Shout by 10%
Levels 75-77: 3/3 Blood Craze
You regenerate 6% of your total health over 6 seconds after being the victim of a critical strike.
Levels 78-79: 2/2 Improved Execute
Reduces the rage cost of Execute by 5
After this you’re going to hit 80, at which point you’re going to want to respec for PvP or Raiding (depending on where your interests lie). If you’re looking for good information on how to respect, check out the WoW Forums or Elitest Jerks
Suggested Leveling Glyphs for the Best Warrior Leveling Spec
Major Glyphs
Glyph of Overpower
At Level 15 you get your first Major Glyph and I’d suggest picking this up. This will let you use it more often! You will be using Overpower as often as it’s available (as long as it’s not on cooldown).
Glyph of Sweeping Strikes
Pick this up at Level 30 (or as soon as you pick up Sweeping Strikes. This will make your Sweeping Strikes ability cost 0 Rage. You’ll want this, because it enables you to easily take down 2 targets at a time while leaving you Rage to use Overpower and other abilities.
Minor Glyphs
Glyph of Bloodrage
At Level 15 I’d pick this one up. It let’s you use Bloodrage without taking any health penalty. Basically, you get 20 free rage every minute with no penalty!
Glyph of Battle
Glyph of Battle extends your Battle Shout by 50%. I usually go with this and pick up Glyph of Charge at 70. You can do it however you’d like though.
Glyph of Charge
Allows you to Cast charge from 5 yards further out. Handy, but it won’t make or break you.
Conclusion
Ok, that wraps it up for the best Warrior leveling spec. Feel free to leave any comments or questions below. I hope it will help you as you level your Warrior and make it a bit less confusing when you’re spending your talent points or choosing glyphs.
